Autumn Embertide Masses and Sunday Celebrations

Friends in Christ,

Today September 24 (Feast of Our Lady of Ransom) begins the Autumn Ember Days, a 3-day period of prayer and fasting (now voluntary) to thank God for the gifts of creation (harvest); for sanctification and protection in the upcoming season; and priestly ordinations.

This seasonal penitential period - today, Friday, and Saturday - is primarily found in the Traditional Latin Mass calendar and is an excellent opportunity this week to pray and fast for the Latin Mass’ preservation.

Ember Saturday is also St. Ann’s Pro-Life Latin Mass at 8:00 a.m.
