Dear Friends in Christ,
As you know, our Holy Father Pope Francis recently accepted Bishop Jugis' petition to retire due to health reasons and has appointed Fr. Michael T. Martin, OFM Conv., a priest and pastor of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, as our new Bishop-elect.
Much
can be said, but we are grateful for Bishop Emeritus Jugis’ twenty
years of leadership and service to the faithful in Charlotte, including
to those attending the Traditional Latin Mass.
Much of the interest and devotion of the Latin Mass and sacred liturgy in the diocese would not have taken place without his leadership and care of all his flock, including the Latin Mass faithful.
We
are also joyful and hopeful to welcome our new shepherd, Bishop-elect
Michael Martin and look forward to his installation as bishop on May 29.
We invite our readers to join us in praying for Bishop-elect
Martin as he prepares to assume the office of Bishop of Charlotte.
